Surface Finishing
Surface finishing encompasses the physical, chemical, and electrochemical processes used to form a functional coating or modify the surface condition of metal parts — enhancing appearance, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, adhesion, electrical properties, and other performance characteristics. The range of available surface treatment technologies is broad, and commonly applied processes include polishing, shot blasting, carburizing and nitriding, surface hardening, chemical oxidation, electroplating, anodizing, painting, powder coating, electrophoretic coating (e-coat), and more.
